Canada: The Hunter Gold Plated 10 oz Silver 2025 Proof
The sculptural heritage of the Kwakiutl returns in an extraordinary 2025 edition. The design from the 2024 “The Hunter” coin has been faithfully re-created on a larger 76.25 mm canvas, allowing the Eagle—master of the skies—and the majestic Orca fin cutting through the waves below to be fully revealed. Both elements, highlighted with yellow gold plating, are set within a twisted cedar rope border and backed by an engraved pattern that mimics the straight grain of western red cedar.
This coin pays tribute to the ancestral storytelling of the Kwakiutl (Tsaxis) people of the Kwakwaka’wakw nation. The Eagle, regarded as having the closest connection to the Creator, symbolizes strength and spiritual guidance, while the Orca is a guardian spirit representing protection and community. Marking the transition from the 2 oz. version issued in 2024 to this impressive 10 oz. release, the coin is crafted in 99.99% pure silver with a stunning Proof finish that enhances every detail and shine.
Reverse features a hand-carved panel in the formline style by artist Jason Henry Hunt, with the Eagle and Orca as central motifs. Yellow gold plating emphasizes the flowing lines and ovoid shapes, while a decorative twisted cedar rope frame completes the composition.
Obverse depicts the effigy of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, surrounded by the monarch’s name, royal titles, year of issue, issuing country, and face value. An engraved woodgrain pattern fills the field, framed by the twisted cedar rope motif.
