Canada: Remembrance Day coloured $20 Silver 2024 Proof Coin
The Remembrance Day coin of 2025 is an exceptional issue from the Royal Canadian Mint, combining tribute, symbolism, and minting craftsmanship. Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in Reverse Proof quality, it honors those who gave their lives defending freedom. The reverse depicts realistic poppies, including one bright red flower, inspired by the famous poem "In Flanders Fields" by Canadian physician John McCrae, written 110 years ago. Selective use of color – black and vivid red – highlights one flower, symbolizing those foremost in our thoughts on Remembrance Day.
The coin is part of an annual issue that honors those who have served and continue to serve Canada in times of war and peace. It measures 38 mm in diameter, with a serrated edge adding elegance and distinction. The face value is 20 Canadian dollars, and the weight is 31.39 g. The mintage is limited to 7,500 coins, making it a valued collector’s item.
Obverse features the portrait of King Charles III along with his name and royal inscriptions.
Reverse by Lisa Thomson-Khan shows realistic poppies in red and black with one highlighted flower, and includes the coin’s face value, year of issue, and the issuing country.
