The obverse shows the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II and the date of issue, as designed by Susanna Blunt .

Rewers show an image of Elsie MacGill with an aeroplane, the inscription "ELSIE MACGILL" and the face value and country of issue. The reverse was designed by Claire Watson.
