Canada Honouring Canada's Unknown Soldier Colorized $2 2025
Canada: Honouring Canada’s Unknown Soldier $2 2025 – colourized version commemorates the 25th anniversary of the repatriation of the Unknown Soldier—a symbol of all the fallen whose names we do not know, whose sacrifice underpins Canada’s remembrance of war. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa is one of the country’s foremost places of national reflection, especially on November 11, when it becomes the focal point of Remembrance Day ceremonies.
The reverse design is by Mary-Ann Liu—the same artist who created the bronze bas-relief adorning the actual tomb. In 2025, her design was brought to the $2 circulation coin, creating a clear, eloquent tribute to all who have served and continue to serve Canada.
Reverse: presents a street-level view of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier against the backdrop of the National War Memorial. The base of the granite sarcophagus is also carried onto the outer ring, which bears the inscriptions "CANADA," "2 DOLLARS," and the bilingual inscription "TOMB OF THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER / LA TOMBE DU SOLDAT INCONNU." Behind the tomb are the silhouettes of four sentries symbolizing all who serve or have served Canada. The colourized variant highlights a vivid red poppy—the central symbol of remembrance for the fallen.
Obverse: features the effigy of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, in keeping with the style used on Canadian issues since 2023.
The coin is struck to circulation standard with a tri-layered aluminum-bronze core, surrounded by a ring of triple nickel-plated steel. It weighs 6.99 g, has a diameter of 28 mm, and features a distinctive interrupted reeded edge. The mintage for the colourized version is 15,000 pieces.
THE SALE PRICE IS FOR 1 COIN.
