Canada: Haunted Canada - Lady in White Coloured 1 oz Silver 2025 Proof
The Haunted Canada - Lady in White coin is a remarkable issue from the Royal Canadian Mint, combining history, artistry, and modern minting techniques. Struck from one ounce of 99.99% pure silver in Proof quality, it brings to life the legend of the Lady in White, a ghost known from the Montmorency Falls area in Quebec. According to local lore, she was Mathilde Robin—a bride who, after losing her beloved in the Battle of Beauport in 1759, plunged into the rushing waters. To this day, many claim her spirit still appears in the mist of the falls, and her tragic tale endures in Canadian ghost stories.
The reverse of the coin features a colourful panorama of Montmorency Falls, enhanced with black light paint technology. When illuminated with the included flashlight, a hidden layer of the design is revealed—the mysterious silhouette of the Lady in White, adding a chilling touch and making the coin highly interactive. The piece measures 49.8 × 28.6 mm, has a plain edge, a face value of 20 Canadian dollars, and weighs 31.56 g. The mintage is limited to 6,500 pieces, further increasing its collector appeal.
Obverse features the portrait of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, surrounded by inscriptions with the monarch’s name, face value, and the year 2025.
Reverse designed by Pandora Young shows Montmorency Falls with dramatic mist, within which the figure of the Lady in White appears thanks to fluorescent paint.
