Canada Clan Animals Otter Colored Silver $15 2026 Proof
Silver Coin Canada: Clan Animals – Otter Coloured $15 2026 Proof
Silver Coin Canada: Clan Animals – Otter Coloured $15 2026 Proof is the third and final issue from the Royal Canadian Mint in a series dedicated to clan animals that are important to the identity and traditions of the Anishinabek. The coin is struck from 23.17 g, or 3/4 oz, of 99.99% fine silver, with a limited mintage of 10,000 pieces.
Nigig – the otter as a symbol of joy and harmony
The coin’s central figure is Nigig – the Otter, which in Anishinabek culture symbolizes joy, healing, bonds, and balance. Its effortless movement through water reflects the ability to go with the flow of life, while its playful nature serves as a reminder that lightness and joy can coexist with strength and responsibility.
The finale of the Clan Animals collector series
The coin has a diameter of 36.07 mm, a face value of 15 Canadian dollars, a Proof finish, and a serrated edge. Selective colouring highlights the red sun, blue water, and muted earth tones. This is the first collaboration between the Royal Canadian Mint and artist Mark V. Nadjiwan.
Obverse and reverse of the coin
Obverse features the portrait of the monarch by Steven Rosati, along with the inscriptions characteristic of a Canadian $15 issue.
Reverse, designed by Mark V. Nadjiwan, depicts a stylized otter, Nigig, surrounded by symbolic elements of nature. The composition is enhanced by selective colours, including the vivid red of the sun and the blue of the water.
