Canada: Canadian Symbol – The Beaver Gold Plated $50 Silver 2025 Proof High Relief
Since 1975, the beaver has been an official symbol of Canada, known as a master ecosystem engineer that reshapes its surroundings to suit its needs. This remarkable coin invites you into its world by presenting two different perspectives of the same scene – a view from above the water’s surface and one from beneath. Both designs are rendered in Extraordinarily High Relief (EHR), while selective gold plating enhances each detail, adding elegance and artistry to the piece.
This exceptional combination of minting artistry and natural symbolism is struck in 99.99% pure silver, weighs an impressive 100.74 g, measures 50 mm in diameter, and has a limited mintage of only 2,750 pieces worldwide. Encased in an elegant black display capsule with extra-wide sides, it is both a beautiful collectible and a tribute to the beaver’s ingenuity and the Canadian wilderness. It is also one of several 2025 releases dedicated to this extraordinary animal, issued in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the beaver’s designation as a symbol of Canadian sovereignty.
Reverse features an above-water view of a beaver family building a dam and lodge, with rich detailing, selective gold plating, 6 mm high relief, and the inscription “CANADA”.
Obverse shows the same construction scene from an underwater perspective, with beavers at work in relief up to 4.15 mm high, alongside the effigy of King Charles III, his name, and the year of issue.
