Canada: Animal Portraits – Canadian Wild Horse 3/4 oz Silver 2019
Canadian Wild Horse 2019 is a unique silver coin issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. Its unusual weight of 3/4 troy ounce distinguishes it from other investment products. The coin commemorates the Canadian wild horse – a majestic animal with a long, flowing mane, symbolizing strength, independence, and freedom. The product is made from the finest .9999 silver and features advanced security elements typical of the Royal Canadian Mint, such as a micro-engraved maple leaf and a serrated edge. The coin is legal tender with a face value of 2 Canadian dollars. Obverse features a right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt, representing the fourth generation of the monarch’s portrait on Canadian coins. It is the first crownless portrait of the Queen on a Canadian coin since the 1930s. The obverse also displays the coin’s face value. Reverse shows a dynamic silhouette of the Canadian wild horse, with a micro-engraved maple leaf in the background. The design was created by Denis Mayer Jr., whose initials “DM” appear on the coin. Around the edge are inscriptions regarding weight, silver purity, year of issue, and issuer.
