Canada: 30th Anniversary of the Toonie $2 2026
Canada: 30th Anniversary of the Toonie $2 2026 is a special numismatic product that commemorates the 30th anniversary of the Canadian 2-dollar coin, known as the Toonie, entering circulation. Each 2026 collector’s $2 coin bears the “W” mint mark from Winnipeg – the place where the Toonie has been produced since 1996. The coin is packaged in elegant paper, creating a unique tribute to the polar bear that captured the hearts of Canadians and to the coin that changed Canada’s pocket change.
The coin weighs 6.99 g, has a diameter of 28 mm, a reeded edge, and is struck in Non-Circulation (collector) quality, not intended for circulation. Designers are Brent Townsend (reverse) and Steven Rosati (obverse).
Obverse features a portrait of King Charles III with his name, the royal inscription, and the date range 1996–2026.
Reverse shows a polar bear in its natural environment, includes the name of the issuing country – Canada – and the coin’s face value.
