Cameroon: Christ the Redeemer gilded 1 oz Silver 2025 Shaped Coin
Cameroon: Christ the Redeemer gilded 1 oz Silver 2025 Shaped Coin is a remarkable collector coin in a three-dimensional form, inspired by one of the world’s most recognizable monuments – the statue of Christ the Redeemer overlooking Rio de Janeiro. The issue combines minting craftsmanship with the universal symbolism of faith, peace, and spiritual unity.
The coin is struck from 1 oz of pure Ag .999 silver and finished with selective gilding, highlighting the details of the sculptural form. Its unusual figurative shape, measuring 48 × 45.3 mm, sets it apart from traditional round coins and also allows it to function as a display piece.
The figure of Christ with outstretched arms has symbolized openness, protection, and hope for decades. The monument in Rio de Janeiro has become a global emblem of spiritual solidarity and compassion, transcending cultural and religious boundaries. The coin faithfully reproduces the proportions and distinctive silhouette of the monument, preserving its recognizability and symbolic message.
The issue was released in 2025 as legal tender of Cameroon with a face value of 1000 CFA francs. A strictly limited mintage of just 199 pieces, together with an elegant display case and a Certificate of Authenticity, underscores the exclusive and collectible nature of the coin.
The obverse of the coin features a sculptural depiction of Christ the Redeemer inspired by the famous monument in Rio de Janeiro. The coat of arms of Cameroon is also present, confirming the coin’s status as an official state issue.
The reverse continues the sculptural form of the Christ the Redeemer monument, capturing the details of the silhouette and the outstretched arms in a characteristic monumental pose symbolizing protection, peace, and spiritual unity.
