Cameroon AE73 – Zdzisław Beksiński Colorized 1 oz Silver 2026 Proof
Cameroon: AE73 – Zdzisław Beksiński Colorized 1 Ounce Silver 2026 Proof is the second installment of a bestselling numismatic series dedicated to the work of one of the most recognizable Polish contemporary artists. The issue underscores the importance of dialogue with admirers of Beksiński’s art—it was their voices that determined the choice of the painting AE73, which opens a new chapter of the collection.
The coin’s reverse brings onto silver of the highest fineness the evocative vision characteristic of the artist’s work—filled with symbolism, unease, and metaphysical reflection. The applied digital printing and microprinting faithfully render the details and depth of the composition, preserving the atmosphere of the original artwork.
The obverse follows a design common to the entire series and presents a portrait of Zdzisław Beksiński in his studio, visually organizing the collection and giving it a cohesive character. The stature of the issue is confirmed by the official patronage of the Historical Museum in Sanok, the sole holder of the copyrights to the artist’s oeuvre. The coin is produced under a license granted exclusively to the Mint of Poland.
The numismatic piece has been struck from pure silver of fineness Ag 999, weighs 31.10 g (1 oz), and features an unusual format of 40 x 40 mm. The Proof (mirror finish) highlights the contrast between the mirrored field and the colorized motif.
The issue comes from the Republic of Cameroon, carries a face value of 1,000 CFA francs, and was released in 2026. The mintage is limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide.
The AE73 coin combines contemporary art with modern minting craftsmanship—a proposition for collectors who value not only precious metal, but also the emotions and symbolism captured in the image.
