Britannia - Queen Elizabeth II 1000 g Silver 2023
In 2021, The Royal Mint has introduced new security features to its flagship Britannia product. The new security features are designed to make the silver currency more attractive for investment and to reduce the possibility of counterfeiting.
The new security features of the silver Britannia are:
- A radiant background which has been created by using a picosecond laser. The effect of the applied laser is visible when the coin is rotated.
- Engraved security using an angular effect, where the image changes from a padlock to a trident.
- Application of the plaster technique (on the dial). The tyncture technique consists of indicating heraldic colours by means of symbols - lines. - The micro-engraved inscription "DECUS ET TUTAMEN", which was made using specialised lasers and which is located above the head of the titular Britannia.
The obverse shows the image of the Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, wearing a crown. It also shows the face value of the coin.
Rewers depicts the traditional figure of Britannia, armed with a trident and shield. The reverse shows the traditional Britannia figure, armed with a trident and shield, as well as new security features and information on purity and purity of silver.
