Britannia Premium 6-Coin Gold Proof Set 2025
The Premium Britannia Gold 2025 Proof 6-Coin Set is a unique product closely linked to the history and great events of the United Kingdom. Britannia is a symbol of strength and hope in difficult times. The Romans made Britannia the symbol of Great Britain, and it first appeared on coins around the year 119 AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. Disappearing after the fall of the Roman Empire, the figure returned during the Elizabethan era and began to symbolize Britain's maritime power.
The coins are struck from Au.9999 fine gold, in proof standard. The set includes denominations of £100, £50, £25, £10, £1, and 50p. The coins have the following weights and diameters: 1 oz (32.69 mm), 1/2 oz (27.00 mm), 1/4 oz (22.00 mm), 1/10 oz (16.50 mm), 1/20 oz (12.00 mm), and 1/40 oz (8 mm).
The total mintage is limited to just 125 sets. Furthermore, this exceptional set has been produced by The Royal Mint.
Obverses depict King Charles III of the United Kingdom, designed by Martin Jennings. The obverses also feature the year of issue and the face value of each coin.
Reverses showcase a new interpretation of Britannia, designed by Bradley Morgan Johnson. The figure of Britannia, holding a trident and looking proudly into the observer's eyes, stands above the turbulent waves leading toward the rays of the rising sun. Additionally, the reverse includes information about the weight, gold purity, year of issue, and the inscription "BRITANNIA".
