Britannia 3-Coin Gold Proof Set 2025
The Britannia Gold 2025 Proof 3-Coin Set is a unique product closely tied to history and the great events of the United Kingdom. Britannia symbolizes strength and hope in difficult times. The Romans made Britannia a symbol of Great Britain, and it first appeared on coins around the year 119 AD during the reign of Emperor Hadrian. Disappearing after the fall of the Roman Empire, this figure re-emerged during the Elizabethan era and began to symbolize Britain's naval power.
The coins are struck from Au.9999 fine gold, in proof standard. The denominations included are £25, £10, and £1, with the respective weights and diameters: 1/4 oz and 22.00 mm, 1/10 oz and 16.50 mm, 1/20 oz and 12.00 mm.
The total mintage of this product is only 125 pieces. Furthermore, this extraordinary set was produced by The Royal Mint.
Obverses feature the portrait of King Charles III of the United Kingdom, designed by Martin Jennings. The obverses also include the year of issue and the coin's face value.
Reverses showcase a new interpretation of Britannia, designed by Bradley Morgan Johnson. The figure of Britannia, holding a trident and gazing proudly into the observer’s eyes, stands above the turbulent waves leading toward the rays of the rising sun. Additionally, the reverse includes information about the coin’s weight, gold purity, and year of mintage, along with the inscription "BRITANNIA".
