The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Coloured Silver 2022 Proof coin is a unique product that refers to the 2022 Commonwealth Games. The official name of the event is the XXII Commonwealth Games and Birmingham 2022. This year's event will take place in the eponymous Birmingham, England, from 28 July to 8 August 2022. The Games have been held every four years since 1930. Athletes from a variety of disciplines who are members of the Commonwealth take part in the Games. Birmingham 2022's motto is 'Games for everyone'.

The coin is struck in Ag.925 sterling silver, weighing 8 grams and 27.3mm in diameter, in colour and proof standard. In addition, this extraordinary piece was produced by The Royal Mint. The specimen comes with individual, certified packaging. The Overt depicts the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II and information about the coin's face value and year of issue. The obverse was designed by Jody Clark.

Rewers of the coin depict the coloured geometric designs found on the Birmingham Library. In addition, the reverse features the inscription 'BIRMINGHAM 2022 COMMONWEALTH GAMES'. The designer of the reverse was Natasha Preece.
