The issuer of the Daintree Rainforest is the world-renowned investment producer Royal Australian Mint. The coin is used as legal tender and is guaranteed by the Australian Government as to its legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal.
The obverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II amidst a tropical landscape, designed by Jody Clark, along with information on the weight and country of issue.
Rewers show a coloured rainforest, the inscriptions "DAINTREE RAINFOREST", "BEAUTY, RICH & RARE". The reverse also shows the denomination and year. The designer was Aleksandra Stokic.
