Banknote Poland 10 Zloty (10 PLN) UNC
The 10 złoty banknote is a modern means of payment that combines aesthetics with advanced security technologies. Measuring 120 x 60 mm, the design pays tribute to Prince Mieszko I, symbolizing the beginnings of the Polish state and its rich cultural heritage.
Obverse: A portrait of Prince Mieszko I, surrounded by elements referencing his reign. On the left, two stylized rosettes inspired by the floor pattern of Gniezno Cathedral; on the right, a plant motif characteristic of Romanesque liturgical vessels. Advanced security features include a watermark with the ruler’s image and the number “10”, visible under light. Tactile features, such as the denomination and portrait, are also adapted for the blind.
Reverse: A silver denarius depicting either a chapel dome or a crown with a cross. Flanking the coin are stylized Romanesque columns from the Benedictine Abbey in Tyniec. Additional features include a turquoise iridescent stripe and microprinting.
Security features:
Watermark: Image of the ruler and number “10”.
Security thread: Vertical strip with “10” and “ZŁ”, visible under light.
Iridescent stripe: Turquoise band with “10” and “ZŁ”.
Recto-verso: Design elements on both sides form a complete image – a crown in an oval – under light.
Optical effect: The “10” value appears light or dark depending on the viewing angle.
Microprinting: Fine print readable under magnification.
Hidden features: UV-visible elements including a square with the “10” value and serial number.
