Australian Emu Coloured 1 oz Silver 2026
Australian Emu Coloured 1 oz Silver 2026 is the ninth release in the exclusive Australian Emu series, which since its debut in 2018 has enjoyed steadily growing interest among collectors, investors, and admirers of Australian wildlife worldwide. The series has achieved premium status thanks to its combination of limited mintages, the highest silver purity, and distinctive designs inspired by Australia’s endemic fauna.
The emu motif was not chosen at random. This majestic bird, the second-largest bird in the world, is one of Australia’s most important national symbols and – alongside the kangaroo – holds an honoured place on the Australian coat of arms. The emu also plays a significant role in Indigenous Australian culture, appearing in numerous Aboriginal stories and beliefs. Inhabiting almost the entire Australian continent – from deserts and plains to forests and mountains – the emu is perfectly adapted to extreme climatic conditions.
The Australian Emu series was launched in 2018 through a collaboration between Metal Market Europe and the renowned The Perth Mint. From the very beginning, coins from this series have been issued exclusively for Metal Market Europe, which remains the authorised and sole distributor of Australian Emu coins. Limited availability, controlled distribution, and consistently high quality have established the series as a strong and recognisable presence in the modern collector coin segment.
Each Australian Emu release is characterised by a limited mintage and the highest standard of craftsmanship. The 2026 coin is struck from 1 oz of Ag 9999 fine silver, carries a face value of 1 Australian dollar, has a diameter of 40.9 mm, and features a reeded edge. The selective colouring applied to the reverse adds depth and realism to the design, making this issue one of the most visually striking in the entire series.
The Perth Mint, the issuer of the Australian Emu series, is one of the world’s most prestigious mints, operating continuously since 1899. The mint is renowned for its rigorous quality standards, precision craftsmanship, and innovative minting techniques. For decades, its products have been synonymous with security, reliability, and numismatic excellence, forming the foundation of many prestigious collections worldwide.
The obverse of the coin features the official effigy of King Charles III, along with his name, the issuing country, and the face value.
The reverse depicts a colourful scene from Australian wildlife – an adult emu walking alongside five chicks. The background shows a desert landscape with a blue sky and an orange sun. The design includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN EMU, as well as details of the weight, silver fineness, the year of issue 2026, and the “P” mintmark of The Perth Mint.
