American Silver Eagle Coin 2016 PCGS MS70 First Strike
The American Eagle is a coin struck in fine silver and produced by the United States Mint. This mint prides itself on ensuring that coins are struck using locally sourced bullion. The American Eagle was first minted in 1986.This silver coin has achieved the excellent collector grade of MS70 and the coveted First Strike designation. The uniqueness of the First Strike symbol ensures that the coin was shipped from the mint within the first 30 days of the first minting. The silver coin was proofed and protected by the prestigious Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS). The obverse was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the coins minted between 1907 and 1933. It depicts the personification of Liberty, symbol of the United States and liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. The seat of the US Congress can be seen at her feet, with the rays of the sun in the background. The reverse is decorated by an eagle (designed by John Mercanti) holding a ribbon with the maxim "E pluribus unum" (Latin: Out of many one), referring to the unification of the states. Above the eagle are thirteen five-pointed stars, symbolising the thirteen colonies.
