The American Eagle is one of the most recognisable silver bullion coins in the world. It is the flagship product of the United States Mint. Each piece containing the image of the personification of Liberty is struck from pure Ag.999 silver weighing one troy ounce. It is worth noting at this point that locally sourced bullion was used in the production of the silver coins. The American Eagle Silver Bu is a unique coin not only because of the high quality of its production, but also because it is a coin struck with the reverse stamp. This means that the obverse is reversed 180 degrees from the reverse. In addition, each silver eagle is a full-fledged legal tender that is guaranteed by the US government as to its legality, the purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal. The obverse depicts the personification of Liberty, a symbol of the United States and liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. At her feet can be seen the seat of the US Congress, and in the background are rays of the sun. The obverse contains the maxim that was included in the Declaration of Independence - 'In God We Trust'. The image of the coin has remained unchanged since the very beginning of the minting of silver eagles - 1986. Adolph Weinman is responsible for the design. The Rewers is decorated by an eagle (designed by John Mercanti) holding a ribbon with the maxim "E pluribus unum" (Latin: Out of many one), referring to the unification of the states. Above the eagle are thirteen five-pointed stars, symbolising the thirteen colonies.
