American Eagle 1 oz Silver 2006 Proof
The American Eagle Silver Bu is a unique coin not only because of the high quality of its production, but also because it is a coin minted with the reverse stamp. This means that the obverse is reversed 180 degrees from the reverse. In addition, each silver eagle is a full-fledged legal tender that is guaranteed by the US government as to its legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal. The obverse depicts the personification of Liberty, symbol of the United States and liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. The seat of the US Congress can be seen at her feet, with the sun's rays in the background. The obverse contains the maxim that was included in the Declaration of Independence - ''In God We Trust''. (In God We Trust). The image of the coin has remained unchanged since the very beginning of the minting of silver eagles - 1986. Adolph Weinman is responsible for the design. On the reverse a single Eagle is depicted coming in for a landing, carrying an oak branch as if to add it to the nest. The inscriptions: ''UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'', ''E PLURIBUS UNUM'', ''1 OZ. FINE SILVER'' and ''ONE DOLLAR''.
