American Eagle 1/4 oz Gold 2006 MS 69 NGC
The American Eagle is a gold coin minted from 22-karat gold. It is heavier than other gold coins, as it is made with the addition of silver, which enhances the coin's strength and makes it much more durable and resistant to mechanical damage than products minted in pure gold. Despite the addition of silver, this coin contains 3.11 grams of pure bullion (minted in Au .916). It is produced at the United States Mint. It was first minted in 1986. It is interesting to note that the image of the goddess on the obverse has not changed since the beginning of minting. The entire piece bears the prestigious Numismatic Guaranty Corporation's security feature highlighting the rarity or excellence of the minted coin. The obverse was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the coins minted between 1907 and 1933. It depicts the personification of Liberty, symbol of the United States and liberation, walking with the attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. The seat of the US Congress can be seen at her feet, with the sun's rays in the background. On the reverse of the American Eagle, we see an image of a bird landing in a nest, designed by American sculptor Miley Tucker-Frost. The reverse also features the American maxim of the Declaration of Independence: "In God We Trust" and "E pluribus unum" (Out of many one). Do you need help?
