American Eagle, 1/2 oz Gold, 1994
American Eagle – 1/2 oz Gold is a classic gold bullion coin issued in 1994 by the United States Mint. Since the series was introduced in 1986, the Gold American Eagle has remained the most important and recognizable U.S. gold investment coin.
The coin carries a $25 face value and is struck in Au 916.7 (22-karat) gold, providing enhanced durability. Total weight is 1/2 troy ounce (about 16.97 g), while the pure gold content is exactly 1/2 oz, equal to 15.55 g Au. The diameter is 27 mm, with a reeded edge.
Fractional Gold American Eagles, including the 1/2 oz version, are especially sought after due to their low mintage. In 1994, only 62,400 pieces were issued, adding collectible appeal alongside intrinsic value. The offered coin is in near-mint condition.
