A 1 oz silver coin from the African Wildlife series, produced by the Bavarian mint. The Bayerisches Hauptmünzamt is a European mint located in Munich and has been in operation since 1871. Its flagship product, the Wildlife series with the elephant coin known to all, is enlarged by another coin that depicts a leopard. The coin has a limited mintage of only 30,000 pieces.Leopard (Leopards) are graceful, powerful cats that are closely related to lions, tigers and jaguars. Leopards can hunt from trees, where their spotted fur allows them to blend in with the foliage. These wild animals are the strongest climbers among the big cats and excellent swimmers.The obverse of the silver coin depicts the Somali coat of arms, two leopards supporting a shield with a star along with information on the year of mintage and denomination.
