5-Coin set Krugerrand Gold 2023 Proof
All coins have been struck from Au.9167 gold with a small admixture of copper. This addition of copper contributes to the enhanced scratch resistance and also imparts a unique colour. The manufacturer of the whole remains the invariably highly regarded South African mint, The South Africa Mint. In addition, each gold piece included in the set is a fully fledged legal tender, which is guaranteed by the South African government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal.The obverse is decorated with a portrait of the President, Paul Kruger, above which are the words "SUID-AFRICA" AND "SOUTH AFRICA". The designer of the obverse was Otto Schultz.
Rewers depicts a springbok antelope, the symbol of South Africa. On both sides of it are numbers representing the year of minting and the weight of the coin. The designer of the reverse was Coert Steynberg.
