1914 For King and Empire Silver Proof Coin
The For King and Empire 1 Ounce Silver 2014 Proof Limited Coin is a piece that commemorates the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. New Zealand entered the battle against Germany on 5 August 1914, as a British colony. The silver coin was struck in pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 40mm in diameter, to proof standard. The Royal Australian Mint is responsible for its production, with minting carried out on behalf of the New Zealand Post. The product is full legal tender in New Zealand. The mintage of the silver coin is only 2,500 pieces, where the whole coin comes in its original box with an accompanying certificate of authenticity. The Averse depicts a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley.
