The obverse contains a stylised image of a white eagle. The eagle is set against a background of ornate ornaments that refer to medieval art and design. Along the edge of the reverse is the inscription "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA" and the date of issue.

The reverse has the image of the ruler Mieszko I and his wife, Dąbrówka, designed by J. Gosławski. The reverse also bears the inscriptions "MIESZKO AND DĄBRÓWKA", "PRÓBA" and the denomination.
