Treasure Shipwrecks: Zuytdorp 1 oz Silver 2020
The triangular Zuytdorp coin is the third and penultimate piece in the extraordinary Treasure Shipwrecks bullion coin series. This series is a bullion collection that honors once-sunken merchant ships such as the Batavia, Zuytdorp, Vergulde Draeck and Zeewijk.
The Zuytdorp silver coin is struck from .999 fine silver and weighs one troy ounce. The mintage is limited to 20,000 pieces, and each coin is delivered in an original, dedicated capsule.
The third coin in the series is issued by Australia's Royal Australian Mint. Moreover, the silver Zuytdorp carries the guarantee of the Government of Australia and is legal tender in the issuer's country.
Obverse depicts a scene in which the majestic ship Zuytdorp disappears into coastal waters. At the top is the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II and information on the country of issue and the year the coin was struck.
Reverse shows the Zuytdorp ship in all its glory. When the coin is turned 180 degrees, the weight and fineness of the piece can be read. Additionally, the reverse features the inscription "Zuytdorp" and the estimated date of the ship's sinking, "1712".
