The Averse depicts the personification of Liberty, the symbol of the United States and liberation with the maxim "E pluribus unum" (Latin: Out of many one) and the date of issue. The Rewers is decorated by an eagle holding arrows. Above the eagle is the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA".
