The Damascus Gate 1 oz Silver 2018 Proof is the 3rd coin in the "Gates of Jerusalem" series, which depicts the "Damascus Gate". It is considered the most impressive of the eight gates in the walls of Jerusalem, which were built in the 16th century during Ottoman rule at the request of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent.The Damascus Gate is so named because the route north of the gate led to Damascus.

The coin is minted in Ag.999 silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and 38.7 mm in diameter, in proof.The coin comes with a customised, certified packaging. The mintage of the product is 1,800 pieces. In addition, this extraordinary piece was produced by The Holy Land Mint. The coin is guaranteed by the Government of Israel as to its legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal, and is full legal tender in the issuing country.

The obverse shows the "Damascus Gate" and the inscription "DAMASCUS GATE". The obverse features information about the year, purity and weight of the bullion written in Hebrew, English.

Rewers depicts a stylised sketch of the gate of the Old City within the walls of Jerusalem, "the inscription GATES OF JERUSALEM" and the logo of "The Holy Land Mint". The reverse was designed by Zvika Roitman.
