The issuer of this remarkable piece is the Perth Mint. All coins in the series are backed by the Australian government and are legal tender in Australia. The global mintage of this gold coin is limited to only 5,000 pieces, and Metal Market Europe is responsible for its distribution.
Obverse of the Australian Emu coin features an updated effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark. The inscription “Elizabeth II Australia” and the coin’s denomination appear on the rim.
Reverse shows a pair of emus in their natural habitat, the characteristic Australian outback. In the background are stones, shrubs, and a tree. The design is surrounded by the inscription “Australian Emu” along with the year of issue, weight, and metal purity.
The coin is packaged in a protective plastic capsule.
