Kookaburra 1 oz Silver 2020
The 2020 Kookaburra bullion coin is the next installment in the series of the same name. The 30th edition of the silver coin will stand out from its predecessors in terms of design. Both the reverse and obverse will be decorated with the title bird.
The 1 troy ounce jubilee coin was minted from pure sterling silver. The issuer of the iconic series invariably remains Australia's oldest mint, the Perth Mint. Highlighting the unique design of the coin is its limited mintage of 500,000 pieces.
Kookaburra is a series of silver coins produced since 1990. Initially ( not counting the first issue which was minted in only one weight - 1 ounce) the collection was minted in four different sizes: 1 kilogram, 10 ounces, 2 ounces, 1 ounce, while in 2010 the quantity was reduced to 3 sizes: 1 kilogram, 10 ounces and 1 ounce. It is also worth mentioning that the collection is distinguished by the fact that the design of the coins changes every year, which makes their value increase from year to year. In conclusion, the Kookaburra collection is ideal for anyone looking for new and interesting qualities for their portfolio.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with an illustration of the 1990 kookaburra and a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. In addition, the obverse bears the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and information about the coin's denomination.
The reverse shows an image of Kookaburra, designed by Jennifer McKenna
