Great Britain: The Half Sovereign - Charles III 2024 Gold Coin
The 2024 Sovereign half is minted in bullion of sample Au. 916.7, in 22 carat gold, 19.30 mm in diameter and weighing 3.99 grams. Each coin in the historic series has an admixture of copper, which makes it highly resistant to scratches and damage. In addition, all Sovereigns are guaranteed by the UK Government.
The obverse shows the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain, the inscription "CHARLES III∙DEI∙GRA∙REX∙FID∙DEF", designed by Martin Jennings. The Rewers depicts a scene of Saint George slaying a dragon. The date of issue is also indicated at the bottom of the gold coin. The designer of the reverse was Benedetto Pistrucci.
